Attic Mold After Storm
Each season in New England brings with it it's own set of weather issues that can wreak havoc on your home. The storm doesn't need to be substantial to cause damage either. Any crack in the armor is an open door to precipitation finding it's way in.
One of those places is through your roof, and into your attic. Your roof isn't exactly an easy place to monitor and you may not enter your attic but once a year for those Christmas decorations. Given that kind of time, mold damage can continue to accumulate without you knowing.
Such was the case for this homeowner who had shingles ripped off their roof during a recent winter storm, leaving the area unprotected and vulnerable. Since snow had accumulated over the shingles that were blown off into their yard, the homeowner never noticed until the snow started to melt. A week or so later, the attic was inspected and that's when the mold was discovered.
SERVPRO of Danvers/Ipswich had crews out there within a day and we were able to take care of all the issues within one day. Including the roof, which was subcontracted to a preferred vendor.
