Shaped like a U and made of PVC or stainless steel, P-traps are found beneath sinks and inside toilets. Despite their small size, P-traps serve a big purpose. 

Essentially, P-traps prevent clogs from causing problems in your pipes while also keeping sewer gasses from leaking into your office space -- or home, for that matter.
